Our region is characterised by the gastronomic variety of the different areas through which you travel. Almost every village has its own popular dishes, which are different from those in neighbouring villages. This explains why gastronomic traditions in rural areas are so extraordinarily rich. Our tours are characterised by the wide variety of landscapes that they encompass and their gastronomic variation is closely related to the landscape of each of these areas. For example, in inland areas you find paella made from meat (typically rabbit, snails and chicken) and vegetables, whilst in coastal areas you find paella made with fresh seafood, or rice dishes because rice is grown in the wetter environment there. You pass through several areas of vineyards where there are many bodegas that produce excellent wines, in particular, red wines. We strongly recommend that you taste some of these local wines!
